Added Features

Most resilient flooring features an added surface "wear" layer over the printed design that protects the pattern and color against scuffs, scratches and stains (Most manufacturers have their own unique, trademarked name for this wearlayer). The purpose of the wearlayer is to offer easy maintenance, superior gloss retention and extend the life of the floor. It is also more sanitary, especially where water may be present. The protective wearlayer can be either urethane, which adds a high-gloss finish or vinyl which offers a satin, matte finish. Some resilient flooring products also offer protection against discoloration due to mildew, bacteria and alkali often found in warm, humid environments.
